The project Nomad houses is a part of the ecosystem of modular houses BY HOME and is an eco-hotel located in the main tourist center of Belarus - Braslav Lakes. A complex of 6-10 small-sized houses with modern architecture and all the necessary infrastructure is designed for recreation from the bustle of the city surrounded by unspoiled nature of the national park.
The concept of Nomad houses was formed out of the need to develop domestic tourism.
At a time when traveling around the world is becoming increasingly difficult, but there is still a demand for it, we, as architects, see our function as opening up interesting locations and creating a tourist infrastructure within the country.
Braslav Lakes is the first place where we decided to start implementing our concept, because it is a region with unique untouched nature and rich cultural and historical heritage. The main value of the territory is the lakes of glacial origin surrounded by a relict forest with an abundance of wild animals and rare plants that can only be seen here.
This place lacked only one thing - stylish modern architecture.
To place the complex we specifically sought a site in a beautiful natural surroundings with walking distance to the lake, proximity to urban infrastructure and convenient access from the highway, as carefully designed infrastructure forms the visitor a positive experience of staying in our eco-hotel.
We were able to find a site that meets all these criteria. The approach to the lake with a well-appointed beach is 100 meters from the complex and runs through a pine forest. Here we also organized entrance from the road with forest parking.
On the site we plan to place a sauna, a hozbok for storing sports equipment and from 6 to 10 houses of two types:
Compact cottage for 1-2 people. The main and only living module includes a recreation area, kitchen, bathroom and electric sauna. Both exterior and interior appearance of the house is an example of pure Scandinavian minimalism and serves as a background for the main accent - the untouched nature of the Braslav Nature Reserve.

The main difference and at the same time the advantage of a country house from a city apartment is the terrace, where we can spend time outdoors and from which we can get to our private outdoor pool.
Despite the fact that the area of the cottage is quite compact, due to the competent planning decisions we have placed everything necessary for both short-term and longer stays. In the kitchen area, we hid a built-in refrigerator and organized storage for cutlery. The podium, on which the kitchen island is located, is also the base for a huge double bed.
The space is illuminated by a light fixture built into the ridge at the junction of the two roof slopes. The space is heated by two radiators mounted on the walls.
To the left of the entrance we have placed a storage system, in the same part of the house we have a bathroom block. It is a room with a warm floor and all the necessary sanitary equipment, but the main feature of both this block and the house as a whole is the presence of a sauna.
At the moment, the village, although under construction, is already welcoming its first visitors. Soon larger homes will be available for rent, respectively for a larger number of guests.
The cottage is slightly larger than its predecessor for recreation for 2-5 people with a spacious terrace. The main and only living module includes a sitting area, kitchen and bathroom. Here, as compared to the previous model, the recreation area is highlighted, as well as organized dining space.

In the interior of the model 35 cabin, we used all the same techniques as in the model+. Stylistically it is a classic Scandinavian minimalism with the predominance of natural materials. The main differences from the previous model are of a planning nature. It has a larger dining area with a wood-burning stove and a separate sitting area.
The bathroom area in this house is larger, but without its own sauna, but there will be a bathhouse on the property.
In the sleeping area, we also placed a large double bed with a walk-in closet. The lighting is recessed around the perimeter of the ceiling, and above the bed we placed spotlights.
Thus, thanks to the variability of house models, guests of eco-hotel can choose the most suitable option for themselves.
In short and succinctly define the design code of this project - it is a Scandinavian minimalism with wooden facades, panoramic glazing and huge terraces. The color palette, as well as the set of finishing materials, is as laconic as possible. The facade and terrace decoration is made of coal-black wood combined with the profiled sheet on the roof of the same shade. Total black complex looks organic against the background of the dark trunks of the pine forest, and does not lose its expressiveness in any weather.
The interior space of the lodge is based on a combination of three shades: natural wood in the wall finish, white in the surface finish, and anthracite in the details. Absolute conciseness for a break from the visual and informational noise of the big cities with a concentration on the natural surroundings.
Staking on the architectural expressiveness and effect of the complex, we create the preconditions for the formation of marketing mechanisms, which are inextricably linked with the functioning of any business.
For us, the marketing component is an inseparable part of architectural design. Regardless of the segment of a particular project, we always adhere to one principle: we create architecture that promotes itself. Quality that speaks for itself and an image that is memorable without unnecessary advertising.
At this stage in the Nomad houses project we have already succeeded in creating an "Instagram image" which you want to share with your friends and followers, but we plan to increase this effect. The buildings of the bathhouse and barn will be equipped with green roofs, smoothly flowing into the hilly terrain of the site. It will be very beautiful.
